“The inspectors caught 528 violators of various municipal safety regulations in 2,800 patrols following 1,864 complaints,” said Muhammad Al-Ajran, director of security and safety at the Eastern Province Mayoralty.
“The inspectors made 155 violators pay SR94,100 in fines and 373 violators who were first-time offenders had to pledge that they would not commit the violations again,” the director said.
All the seized groceries were donated to charities, he said.
The department also tracked down 1,436 lost children and returned them to their homes, the official said.
