The victim’s mother almost fell into the tank but was rescued by passersby.
Spokesman of the Civil Defense Maj. Abdullah Al-Amri said the incident happened at a building under construction behind Erfan and Bagedo Hospital in Jeddah.
He said the cries of the mother drew the attention of a number of people who happened to be passing through the area.
He said one of the passersby informed the Civil Defense about the incident. “The Civil Defense immediately sent rescue teams who pulled the girl's body out,” he added.
The spokesman said the case was being investigated.
