Pakistan seeks aid for flood-hit

The intensity of floods in Sindh is enormous and that has inundated more than 4.1 million acres of land displacing approximately 4 million people, besides loss of human lives, livestock and properties, he said at a fund raising event for the flood victims held by the consulate at Pakistan International School Azizia on Thursday.
He said the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia have always supported Pakistan during difficult times. He thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and his government for sending relief goods to the flood victims in Pakistan.
The Kingdom’s Pakistani residents have always stood with their Pakistani brothers whenever they were in trouble, and urged them to come forward to help the flood victims in southern Pakistan. He added that the devastation caused by the flood was so big that government alone could not overcome it and it needed the support and help of overseas Pakistanis and NGOs. Various Pakistani forums and community members donated cash for the flood victims on the occasion.
