Malik said that he has shared the reports with President Asif
Ali Zardari. Malik said,
“Al-Qaeda and Tehrik-e-Taleban Pakistan operatives are planning to kidnap
Bilawal and kill him to fulfill their nefarious designs.”
He,
however, said, “Necessary security measures have
been taken for Bilawal’s security in and outside Pakistan.” According to
intelligence reports, Bilawal may be targeted by militants when he will be on
his visit to Garhi Khuda Bux, the native town of his family in Sindh in
December to attend death anniversary of his mother slain former Premier Benazir
Bhutto.
Talking to reporters at the Parliament Malik further disclosed,
”Son of slain Gov. Salman Taseer, Shahbaz Taseer, kidnapped early this year was
in the custody of militants in Waziristan.
“Shahbaz is still alive,” said Malik. “But the kidnappers’
identity is still not confirmed as no militant organization has claimed the
responsibility of the kidnapping,” Malik said.
“We are very close to pinpoint the whereabouts of Shahbaz.” We
want his safe release at all cost,” he said. Earlier, Punjab Gov. Latif Khosa
also claimed that Shahbaz was still alive and significant clues regarding his abduction
have been found during the investigation.
