The forum, presided over by JCCI Secretary-General Adnan Mandoura, discussed the possible involvement of German expertise in automobile technical training institutes to meet growing Saudi needs, as well as possibilities of joint ventures and partnerships, and encouraging the establishment of small and medium enterprises.
A spokesman for the visiting delegation told the forum that German companies, especially from Lower Saxony, were keenly interested in promoting nonoil trade and contributing to the growing Saudi demand for the transfer of technology and know-how.
Lower-Saxony is located in northwestern Germany and is the second largest federal state in area.
The delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Saudi Arabia (AHK Saudi Arabia) is hosting the visiting team, which leaves on Monday. It earlier visited Riyadh.
The delegation consists of members of the Parliament from Lower Saxony as well as of representatives of German companies that are specialized in various fields like security systems, food packaging, mining and machines for the paint industry.
During the delegation’s visit, AHK Saudi Arabia visited and interacted with Saudi companies in Riyadh and Jeddah.
The schedule of its Jeddah trip included site visits to the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), a new city for a new generation of Saudi citizens, and the Jeddah Islamic Port.
The visit is part of Germany’s renewed efforts to promote prosperous and sustainable partnerships bilaterally, the AHK Saudi Arabia stated.
