With the opening of the new outlet on Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Street (Tahlia Street), eXtra has increased its nationwide presence to 22 stores.
"The opportunities for big box consumer electronics retailers here in Saudi Arabia are especially significant," said Abdullah Al-Fozan, chairman of the board, United Electronics Company (eXtra). "The opening of our new store in Jeddah is another major step in our long-term strategic growth plans, and affirms our commitment to bring our offering closer to our customers."
With more than 2,900 square-meters of retail space, the new store will be eXtra's latest in design in Jeddah.In 2011, eXtra has opened outlets in Hafr Al-Batin, Najran, Damman and Riyadh, bringing its network to 22 stores. By the end of this year, eXtra plans to open two additional stores — in Jubail and Al-Kharj — raising its total network to 24 stores. Existing stores in Jeddah are located on Prince Sultan Street in the Shatea Area, and Al-Jama'a district, next to the King Abdulaziz University.
Currently, eXtra provides the over 9 million customers it serves annually with more than 12,000 products across its 22 stores — serving almost 90 percent of the population of Saudi Arabia. Founded in 2003, eXtra is the largest and fastest-growing consumer electronics and home appliance retailer in Saudi Arabia.
