Ali Akbar Salehi is quoted by the official IRNA news agency as saying Saturday that Iran’s armed forces intercepted and brought down the pilotless aircraft without any foreign assistance.
Iran has displayed the RQ-170 Sentinel drone it captured over the country’s east two weeks ago as a feat of its military. The US says the drone went down because of a malfunction.
Iran has rejected US demands to return the drone.
