The company made quite an impact in Saudi Arabia when Veolia Water won National Water Company’s water and wastewater services contract for Riyadh in 2008. Nearly 40 top experts from Veolia, headed by Country Manager Jean-Paul Camus, are working in the group’s main office in the capital.
As part of the company’s commitment to transfer know-how, Veolia Water is entering into an agreement with the prestigious Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
The agreement will be signed on Wednesday in the presence of top KFUPM and DTV officials and Veolia Water executives. A number of top officials and mediamen have been invited to witness the signing ceremony in the Rector’s Office in Building 21.
Veolia Water Saudi Ltd. Business Development Manager Faisal Al-Dawish said his company has carved a niche for itself in the water management business.
“We have earned the trust of National Water Company by honoring our commitment to Saudi government and society. This agreement to create our footprint in DTV will further strengthen the bonds between Saudi Arabia and Veolia,” he said.
“The signing of the agreement with DTV will represent a new step toward strengthening the company’s position in the Kingdom,” he said.
The center will focus on a number of the company’s most important activities related to the development and application of new technology in water and wastewater management.
DTV is a major undertaking that was initiated by KFUPM in 2006.
It is envisioned to be Middle East’s most prestigious, industrial research and development and technology nucleus.
Veolia Water designs and builds water treatment works for municipalities and industry. It offers a complete range of technological solutions based on in-house processes and including equipment, modular systems and associated services that meet the water treatment requirements of its municipal and industrial clients.
Since 2006, Veolia Water has significantly expanded its activities as an operator of water services in the Middle East.
