It is also planning to add new destinations in Saudi Arabia as part of regional expansion plans announced earlier.
"We are adding eight new aircraft and the by mid-2012 Gulf Air will have the youngest fleet in the region," Gulf Air's Chief Executive Officer Samer Majali said.
Majali, speaking on the sidelines of the opening of airline's new city office at the Seef Mall, said Gulf Air would continue to focus on the hospitality and serving passengers with care.
"Gulf Air will also announce new destinations in other parts of the world as part of its business model in 2012," he added.
Gulf Air, Majali said, will also roll out a refurbished business lounge at the Bahrain International Airport.
Airline Chairman Talal Al-Zain, who is also the CEO of the Bahrain's Sovereign Fund Mumtalakat which owns Gulf Air, said the opening of the airline’s new city office at Seef Mall would add a new dimension to the carrier’s resolve of serving its client base efficiently.
