Vintage car owners seek SCTA approval for a club

They added that they were promised several times by officials the building of a club or a museum for the old cars; these promises were never fulfilled.
The owners do occasionally participate at their own initiative in a number of festivals and public occasions. A festival for the vintage cars was organised, for example, in Jeddah July 2011 in which 42 cars participated. They were selected out of 158 old vehicles. A number of these cars were placed in malls and shopping centers for customers to have a look at.
Most of the old cars in the Kingdom are found in Riyadh and Qasim.
According to the collectors, there were few problems in obtaining spare parts for their vintage cars as there are many shops catering to their needs in the Kingdom and it they were also able to buy spare parts and sell their cars through the Internet.
