“This exhibition is very important. It is not only presenting the work of a Saudi artist but also the talent we have. Jann’s work is unique and beautiful, and we want her to teach this unique talent to other Saudi artists,” said Saudi artist Nabil Tahir.
“The art scene is growing in Saudi Arabia. We want the new talent to come forward and learn from artists like Jann, because such exhibitions reflect how good Saudi artists are,” he said.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Hani Ghazi Akbar Al-Sayed, the artist’s eldest son, to commemorate her 50th art exhibition. “Dr. Jann did 49 exhibitions at international and national levels, where she always promoted Saudi artists and their work. Her work always reflects the different colors of the country, traditions, culture, nature, moods and moments,” he said. Jann is planning to take this exhibition to America in July to introduce the world the beauty of Saudi Arabia and promote Saudi artists and their talent.
“I have already participated in a number of national and international exhibitions and showcased my talent and Saudi culture, which helped in promoting Saudi artists,” she said.
One visitor to the exhibition, Idris Marshal from the US, said he saw many of Jann’s exhibitions but wanted to see this particular one when it travels to America. “The way she explained her paintings and showcased her views and Saudi culture and tradition are really unique and beautiful.
“One painting I liked the most was the one she made that was inspired by NASA,” he said.
Jann did her PhD in the education of art and now her mission is to showcase Saudi culture, tradition and promote Saudi artists and their work around the world.
