They were found guilty of photographing their fellow students while being evacuated during the rains of January 2011, Al-Madinah daily reported on Wednesday, quoting court sources. The disciplinary committee of the university suspended the two students for two semesters.
One of the two defendants walked out while being interrogated by the committee. Her sister attended the interrogation. She verbally attacked the dean. The second defendant admitted to the charges against her.
The two defendants and their parents objected to the punishment and appealed the university's decision to the administrative court. The court turned down their objection and found them guilty on all charges.
