The Saudi delegation will be visiting Amman on an invitation of the Chairman of the Jordanian Senate Tahir Masri.
Al-Asheikh is expected to meet with King Abdallah of Jordan, Prime Minister Awn Shawkat Al-Khasawneh and Chairman of the House of Representatives Abdul Karim. He is also slated to hold detailed discussions with Masri and chairmen of various committees of the senate.
“The visit is an extension of the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan founded by the late King Abdulaziz,” Al-Asheikh said on the eve of his departure to Jordan.
The two countries enjoy excellent relations under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and King Abdallah II, he added.
The Shoura chairman said the two countries hold identical views on all regional and international issues and recent developments in the Arab world.
He added frequent dialogue between the two countries would further strengthen understanding and unity between the two nations.
He pointed out such frequent bilateral discussions under the able guidance of the two leaderships will not only make relations stronger but also contribute to the welfare, security and stability of the Arab region.
Acknowledging its contributions to the GCC, Al-Asheikh said the Kingdom would support Jordan's entry to the council, which would eventually strengthen and expand the areas of operations in the region.
He said during the visit the focus of the talks with the members of the House of Representatives and the Senate would be on exchange of experience between the two bodies.
“The bilateral talks will also concentrate on how best the two consultative bodies could cooperate with each other in nurturing political, economic, social and cultural rights, especially in terms of bilateral coordination on parliamentary levels.”
The other members of the Shoura delegation include Abdul Rahman Naser Al-Atawi, Moosa Mohamed Assaleem and Mohammed Ahmed Al-Ibrahim.
