A ministry statement seen Friday said there were one Ukrainian and 20 Indian crew members on board the Norwegian-flagged MV Spar Rigel.
It said pirates attacked the ship on Tuesday and the crew locked themselves into a saferoom on board until help arrived.
It didn’t say which country’s navy came to their rescue. No other details were available.
