The recently appointed Haia chief was accompanied by Director General of the Riyadh branch of Haia Abdullah Al-Shathri and several other officials.
Prince Muhammad bin Salman, special adviser to the defense minister, also attended the reception. The Saudi Press Agency reported the Haia is organizing a 10-day training program for 450 new members in Riyadh, Taif and Najran.
The program, which is supervised by the commission’s administrative development department, will train the new recruits in legal, field and organizational matters of the commission.
Director of the department Ibrahim Al-Ali said the program is a first step in equipping new members to undertake their special tasks. “A member will learn the basic information a field worker should have before embarking on his job,” he said.
He added the program has been prepared with the help of experienced field workers and experts in Shariah and other regulations. Al-Asheikh said on his appointment as the Haia chief that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah had ordered him and his fellow colleagues to be lenient with people and to show goodwill and respect.
