"We have depended on recent research work and studies based on accurate scientific data for the formulation of these parameters," he said. He added the authority would establish special centers to monitor corruption and its impact on the public culture.
Al-Sharif said during the 11 months of its existence, the NACC was able to deal with a number of corruption cases and to draft rules and regulations to fight financial and administrative corruption.
"We receive hundreds of complaints every day about corruption in public and private establishments which we thoroughly check before making any moves," he said.
The chairman explained the commission does not accept information about corruption over the telephone. "We have three methods for receiving complaints, including fax messages, mail and personal contact," he added.
Al-Sharif asked all non-government organizations to assist the commission in carrying out its assignment according to true Islamic values, to fight corruption and spread the values of integrity that are the basic pillars of its work.
He said as part of its work, the NACC checks all government operation and maintenance contracts to make sure that they are free of any loopholes that could encourage corruption. "We are ready to cooperate with all government and private establishments to spread awareness among citizens about the importance of protecting public and private properties," he said.
Al-Sharif asked all government and private bodies to fully cooperate with the commission and supply its employees with information, statistics and documents they may require.
He said the majority of employees were former government employees who were vetted for their honesty and integrity and were employed for a limited period of time.
"We have also opened the door for new graduates so they can gain experience and skills," he added.
He said the possibility of opening branches in the Kingdom to ensure international transparency and fighting corruption was not being considered at the moment.
