The exhibition is organized by the Department for Combating Drugs and the National Charitable Society for Combating Smoking and Drugs.
The program will include lectures and display of boards showing the dangerous effects of drug abuse and smoking and the impact of drug addiction on society and economy, an organizer said.
Lt. Col. Khaled Al-Humaidan, director of public relations and guidance at the training city, said the exhibition was aimed at enlightening security officers on social issues such as drug abuse.
At present there are about 4,000 security officers in the city taking part in various security training courses.
Drug trafficking is a major problem facing the Kingdom. During the past three years, police have arrested around 119,000 people of different nationalities in connection with drug trafficking.
The total value of narcotic drugs seized from smugglers during the period was more than SR18 billion, Al-Madinah Arabic daily reported. About 400 security officers had died fighting traffickers.
During the same period, the Department for Combating Drugs seized 181 million Captagon pills, 61 tons of hashish, 222 kg of heroin and 2,206 tons of qat.
Captagon is widely used by students, the paper said, adding that more than 800 teenagers have been held at juvenile homes for drug abuse. The use of drugs was the main reason for 60 percent of crimes in the country, the paper pointed out.
