According to a press release issued on Sunday by India Forum Director and Haj Consul B.S. Mubarak, the consul general, in his capacity as the forum’s vice patron, reconstituted the management committee.
Besides Ghafoor, the new office-bearers are Shaikh Mohammad Khaliq (secretary), Syeeduddin Hyder (treasurer) and Badruddin Ansari (program coordinator).
The list of the forum’s executive members includes Ghazanfar Ali, Saju Joseph, Imran Haroon Rakhangi, Aravind Pezholil and Mohideen Sirajudeen. Two women coordinators have been named in Binu Joseph and Neelam Imran Rakhangi.
The forum is affiliated with the Consulate General of India in Jeddah and has over the years played an instrumental role in meeting the cultural and social needs of the vast Indian community in the city. The Indian community has welcomed the new appointments and appreciated Consul General Faiz Ahmad Kidwai’s efforts in keeping a close touch with the community.
