With six new destinations launched already this year, continuing new aircraft deliveries and on-going recruitment throughout the world, the international airline of the UAE is cruising through 2012.
“With more than 11,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries and almost 170,000 visitors, ITB Berlin is a significant driving force for the travel industry,” said Thierry Antinori, Emirates’ executive vice president — passenger sales worldwide.
“Emirates has been exhibiting at ITB Berlin for over 15 years and it is important that we continually have a presence at the show.”
ITB takes place the week after Emirates’ launched Seattle as its 122nd destination and took part in event there to mark the 1000th 777 off the Boeing production line — with the aircraft destined for Emirates later this month.
The huge Emirates’ Globe at ITB is being installed over a 10-day period, generating 11,300 manhours of work.
The 9.5 meter high structure, with a 65-meter circumference, has the capacity to rotate 360 degrees every 37 minutes.
On the ground floor of the stand, visitors can see replicas of the Emirates’ A380 Onboard Shower Spas and Onboard Lounge.
“In Berlin, Emirates is showing more of its A380 product than at any other international travel trade event outside our home of Dubai. We are happy to be able to showcase again the premium A380 experience to all ITB visitors at our spectacular stand,” said Antinori.
“At the same time, with our recruitment presence on-site, we will be looking to attract more cabin crew to be part of the Emirates’ success story and to support our growing fleet of modern aircraft, including, of course, our flagship A380.”=
