Mosleh bin Hamid Al-Otaibi, CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail, inaugurated the event on Sunday. It offered hundreds of career opportunities for fresh graduates in information technology and management fields.
Al-Otaibi praised the participating companies for their desire to attract, hire and open new job avenues to Saudi youngsters.
Ali Asiri, general manager of colleges and institutes at the Royal Commission in Jubail, told Arab News that the primary aim of the Career Day was to support communication between the fresh graduates on the one hand and the companies on the other.
“The Royal Commission intends to keep college students aware of the happenings in the Saudi labor market and to keep them fully informed about the skills required to fill the available jobs,” said Asiri.
According to him, 104 companies participated in the Career Day. “More than 80 of them are well-suited for jobs for men, while 19 are for women,” he said. “Last year 67 companies participated.”
He said more than 3,500 job opportunities were made available through the Career Day.
“We will hopefully achieve our objectives of facilitating the recruitment process for fresh graduates,” Asiri said.
Jubail Industrial College organizes Career Day every year as part of its efforts to promote the role of education, training and employment.
