Prince Mohammed bin Nawaf, the Saudi ambassador to the United Kingdom, hosted the Career Day Exhibition to recruit students of the King Abdullah Scholarship Program studying in the UK in the largest conference hall in Britain.
During a tour of the exhibition, Prince Mohammed discussed with representatives of the institutions the plans and mechanisms of these entities to attract graduates and consequently employ them.
The ceremony also included honoring students who had shown academic excellence in their research and studies.
Prince Mohammed said the students of King Abdullah’s Scholarship Program had proved their intellectualism and abilities through a number of international scientific forums in various countries around the world. Saudi students have received prizes and certificates of appreciation and excellence on achievements in the field of science, among many other fields. Prince Mohammed assured this distinction was the product of King Abdullah’s keen interest and support to the Saudi citizen in an aim to arm him with the most powerful weapon of all: Education.
Accordingly, now the Saudi students are qualified with education and knowledge in order to one day contribute to the continuing process of nation building and development in all fields.
Prince Mohammed further explained that the interest in the exhibition was not confined to graduates only, but stretched to include the participants who would gain from the graduates scientific and academic sophistication and functional capabilities through applying their potential and scientific knowledge into practice. Ghazy Abdulwahid Makki, the cultural attaché, at the Saudi Embassy in the United Kingdom, said in his speech that the King Abdullah Scholarship Program had reached an advanced stage that was now producing the future of Saudi Arabia, noting that the Career Day Exhibition would contribute greatly to the Saudization of the labor market.
Makki also stated that the cultural bureau in the UK had mobilized all its capabilities for the launching of the exhibition, which included approximately 37 exhibitors.
They included the various Saudi universities, such as King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Princess Norah University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
