Commenting on the Tadawul's performance, Basil Kabbani of Zughaibi & Kabbani Financial Consultants, said: "TASI closes almost flat as investors build new positions by selling and accumulating the stocks."
The performance of all sectors was mingled as eight out of Tadawul's 15 sectors witnessed advancement. Media and Publishing remained at top showing the accumulation of 149.27 points or 5.68 percent for the day to close at 2,778.14.
On the worst side, Energy & Utilities trimmed 0.87 percent from its previous level.
Top ten market cap companies closed the day in the negative zone except SABB and Saudi Arabian Fertilizers, which rose to 0.27 percent for the day.
Kingdom Holding was worst performer among large cap stocks for the second consecutive day, down 0.82 percent to close at SR12.2.
Participation was moderate yesterday; Tadawul liquidity expanded to SR14.5 billion, an increase of 4.5 percent over the previous day.
Trading volume went slightly down to 556.9 million shares compared with 583.1 million shares traded on Sunday.
Mobile Telecommunications-ZAIN with 64.5 million shares topped the volume chart and remained the most active stock for the sixth consecutive day. It captured 12 percent of the total volume set sold at Tadawul.
However, the value chart was led by ENAYA Insurance, which showed a turnover of SR1.03 billion.
Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by a margin of 68 to 65 and the prices of 15 companies remained unchanged.
Insurance stocks occupied top gainers chart, with Solidarity Saudi Takaful and Saudi Re for Cooperative Reinsurance, rising by 9.9 percent.
On the other hand, National Agriculture Marketing Co. came out as the biggest loser, down 6.1 percent.
Tadawul turnover reaches SR14.5bn
