Sakaka center to boost culture

He said the center is aimed at providing civilization services with a special focus on the cultural activities. The mayor said the center would include a public library, connected to other libraries all over the Kingdom, to extend scientific research services and lend books to interested readers. "The municipality is currently building a lecture hall and another hall for audio-visual presentations to show documentary films and other various shows and exhibitions," he said.
Al-Nasser said the center would include a large open area to host charity bazaars, folklore shows and children competitions. "There will be halls of various sizes to host meetings between citizens and officials to launch awareness campaigns and to hold seminars and symposia," he added.
He said there would be a center dedicated to the service of senior citizens, featuring areas for social activities, poetic nights and sports.
The mayor said there would be sports facilities including swimming pools, playgrounds for squash, basketball, volleyball and table tennis, a gymnasium and equipment for physiotherapy.
He also said there would be playgrounds for soccer and tennis in addition to tracks for racing and athletics. Al-Nasser said the center would include parks, playgrounds for children and a center for science and technology to be used by children and families.
He said there would also be a covered club for women for entertainment, social and sport activities.
The mayor said the center would feature museums, restaurants and other facilities that would attract tourists.
