The huge table is being arranged along the Alkhobar Corniche, opposite Jarir Bookstore and Tamimi Markets. The area is popularly known as Waajihat Alkhobar.
Hundreds of people are expected to take part in the breakfast at 9 a.m. and according to organizers, it is open to everyone. The Guinness team will also be present to confirm the record.
The table is said to measure 175 meters in length and 122 cm in width and has already been set up at the Corniche.
“The table will accommodate nearly 600 people, beating the world’s longest breakfast table record achieved in the Netherlands,” said organizer Helda Shehab.
She said Alkhobar has been chosen with a view to putting it on the world map and promote its potential for tourism. “Alkhobar is already a tourist attraction and this record will solidify its image in the eyes of the global tourists.”
She said the table has been arranged keeping in view Guinness procedures and conditions. The breakfast will primarily consist of cheese, cream, honey and bread. “Only men will be served at the table, but a special part has been designated for VIPs and women,” said Shehab.
“Through this record-breaking event we want to convey the message to all, and especially children and students, that breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” she said. “We want people to know that it is healthier and beneficial for the body.”
The organizers hope everyone will attend the event and become part of the world record.
