The program’s objective is to enhance the leadership and management skills of women leaders with roles in the nonprofit sector and who contribute to civil society.
The Center for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), an internationally recognized nongovernmental organization, will lead the program.
“Investing in women is vital to creating strong communities,” said Suzanne McCarron, president of the ExxonMobil Foundation.
“We are honored to provide these distinguished women with the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and help them to strengthen the impact of their organizations in the community.”
Twenty female leaders from the UAE will join other participants from Egypt, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia in this prestigious training program.
The training workshop is taking place in Washington, D.C., and in Abu Dhabi.
A VIP graduation ceremony will be held on April 25 in the Abu Dhabi.
“This signature leadership program for women demonstrates ExxonMobil’s loyalty and commitment to the region,” said Morten Mauritzen, president of ExxonMobil Companies in Abu Dhabi.
“We are an active partner in the UAE and have had a presence in the country for more than 70 years, supporting community programs in the Emirates.”
ExxonMobil and the ExxonMobil Foundation have invested more than $50 million in the past seven years to support the economic advancement of women and are the sole sponsors of the Global Women in Management program.
