Liberalism is a general concept for everybody to think as they like because our minds are composed to think of everything as they like. No one can prevent the neural electric currents running through billions of cells. When we want to speak out what we have in our minds, the overwhelming tyrant majority muzzles our utterances in violation of liberalism. Even those who, regardless of the party they belong to, are talking in press and media used to talk, in a non-liberal atmosphere, with words coming out of their mouths expressing no ideas. Utterances and writings may be subjected to fear and hypocrisy; however, ideas are in a bulwark.
In an atmosphere with minimum level of liberalism, man’s published ideas may only see light when they permitted to pass and because he knows he is writing them to pass to the outer world.
It is like a dam that has a controlling tap; one day a torrent of fanatic words is allowed out to clean after a previous torrent of other fanatic words. Both torrents are gone with the wind and what is left is the dam and the controlling tap. I hope you have got my idea.
So, those we see in the arena are not liberals so long as they attack other thoughts and want to erase it; they are fanatics of an opposite camp who would take us to the same conclusion.
“What if you have the authority?” Don’t ask me. I am just a spectator of this Romanian arena and I see the fighter holding their weapons to reach one conclusion... Blood; shed blood of religion, principles calling for freedom of humanity and blood of the society. Meanwhile, I see bidders sitting up there in the Caesarean compartments.
What we really need is consciousness and logic not emotion and irritability or action and reaction. Religion supports freedom with fair conscience and aware mind. Religion also is hidden weapon that is only drawn when a danger threatening mind and conscience looms ahead.
The human meaning of Liberalism is coexistence without competing over the essences of rights, belief and kind... rather there should be some kind of pushing forward concurrence that would move the wheel forward smoothly like a circular wheel moving on a paved ground taking the path of human civilization.
The conclusion is: Liberalism is not to muzzle Salafis. Or others!
