"We are doing very well in the Kingdom and we are going to expand heavily there. The new addition is Hyatt Regency Riyadh," Thierry Bertin, VP, worldwide sales of Hyatt, told Arab News on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).
"We have entered into an agreement with Mohammed A. Al Swailem Co. for Commercial Investment for a Hyatt Regency Riyadh hotel. The hotel is expected to open in the third quarter of 2013. It will offer 257 guestrooms, including 37 suites," he added.
It marks the seventh Hyatt-branded hotel under development in Saudi Arabia and the second Hyatt-branded hotel under development in Riyadh; the previously announced Park Hyatt Riyadh is expected to open in 2015. Park Hyatt Riyadh will be a stand-alone building located on King Fahd Road in the Olaya district. It will offer 275 guestrooms and several suites.
Hyatt opened a worldwide sales office in Saudi Arabia during February and entered into agreements with Naseel Holding Company to manage three new Hyatt-branded hotels in the Kingdom.
"Hyatt's progress in Saudi Arabia has been absolutely remarkable, and we are truly excited about what we will now be able to offer guests visiting the Kingdom. Our newly-opened worldwide sales office in Saudi Arabia, with its focus on localized and personalized service, will support visits at all of our Saudi properties, as well as those outside the country," added Thierry Bertin.
"Our property, Grand Hyatt Jeddah, which is expected to open in early 2016, will have 400 rooms including 48 suites. Hyatt Regency Jeddah, expected to open in the second half of 2015, will have 240 rooms, including 30 suites. This hotel will be located on Tahlia Street in the center of Jeddah," he added.
