Irvan Fachrizal, from the Indonesian Embassy, and Mursidi HJ Setia shared center stage after each won a major prize and an award.
Fachrizal was the Best Net champion on 68 and took home the nearest to the pin plum, while Setia won Best Gross honors in addition to the longest drive award.
Select embassy staff/personnel of ASEAN-member nations participated in this annual competition organized by the ASEAN Riyadh Sports and Social Committee (ARSCC) as part of its calendar of activities.
Amka Channara was Best Net first runner-up on 69, Myanmar Ambassador Khin Zaw Win second runner-up on 73 via countback over Philippine Embassy’s Moca Tanggorac, who settled for third runner-up position.
Winners in the putting competition were Royal Thai Embassy, first; Brunei Embassy, second; and Philippine Embassy, third.
This year’s hosts were Thai Embassy for the men’s golf and Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar for the ladies putting tournament. The Myanmar ambassador and Thai Embassy’s charge d’ affaires, Charn Jullamon, in their speeches both thanked the partipating countries for their support to the event being held to further grow cooperation of one another. They also thanked golf course owner and Saudi Golf Federation President Khaled Abunayyan.
ASEAN ambassadors attended the awards ceremony in which the winners received trophies and prizes from host embassies and raffle items from Dirab Golf & Country Club.
Channara (longest putt on hole No. 13) and Amornsak Pararaman (straightest drive on No. 18) rounded out the award winners.
The other men’s golf results are as follows: Thiraset Lemprasert 75, Achmad Riad 77, Saipoden Manalao 81, Morni HJ Tuah 83 and Mohd. Fakhri HJ Mohd. Taib 83.
