The six-hour-long competition for kids, junior and sub-junior categories will begin at 2.30 p.m., said Najmuddin Ambalagaden, event coordinator in Jeddah.
The contestants will face famous Indian quizmaster G.S. Pradeep during the educative Bahrain event.
Sixty finalists from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and the UAE are taking part in the contest. First prize winner will get a cash award of Rs 100,000 while the second prize winner Rs 75,000 and third prize winner Rs 50,000.
Prominent Indian businessmen and community leaders such as Pathmashree Dr. Ravi Pilla, Abdurahman Athawi, director of Octic International, Abraham John, chairman Indian School Bahrain, P.V. Radhakrishna Pilla, president Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam, Shakeel Ahmed Azmi, administrator Ibn Haitham School, Arun Kumar Sharma, principal new Millenium School will attend the event.
Professor Raynold P. Ittoop, chairman of the reception committee in Jeddah for the quiz, emphasized the importance of the quiz program. "It gives our children a good opportunity to interact with others and compete with one another."
The mega quiz targeted students in the 10 regions of Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Salalah and Muscat and drew a large number of contestants.
