Pak women donate free food, clothes

KIND-HEARTED: Members of the Pakistan Ladies Group who recently ran a program to help people with food and clothing, and a woman suffering from cancer.

JEDDAH: The Pakistan Ladies Group (PLG) recently distributed free food, clothes and household items to several needy members of the expatriate community here at the start of Ramadan.
The social and welfare group worked with the Pakistani Consulate in Jeddah to also assist a Pakistani woman suffering from cancer with her medical bills. The program was run under the patronage of Sonia Shehar Yar, chairperson of the PLG. Rehana Mithwani acted as coordinator and was assisted by committee member Samina Sheikh.
Shehar Yar said the plan is to continue to assist members of the community after Ramadan. Mithwani said that the date of the next event would be announced after Ramadan.
