JAZAN: Hassan bin Hussein bin Ahmed Al-Qaisi, a Saudi soldier in Alafwaj security forces was killed in a mine explosion in the southern Jazan Province while trying to rescue two border guards in the Qais Mountains, in the governorate of Al-Aridha.
The soldier died during a reconnaissance patrol the border guards were conducting on the mountain close to the border with Yemen.
The two soldiers were surprised by a land mine explosion that injured them. Al-Qaisi, a resident from the mountain area, rushed to save them but another land mine exploded before he reached them, killing him instantly.
Al Arabiya channel said that security and military officials are investigating the incident.
The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.
In a heart-breaking incident meanwhile, Cpl. Anwar Al-Zahrani was brought home recently a martyr at a time his people in Al-Baha were awaiting his arrival from the southern border for his wedding.
Al-Zahrani is one of the Ministry of Defense soldiers killed in the fight against Houthi militias in the border area of Najran.
In the last video taken before the battle in which he was killed, he asked for prayers for him and his colleagues.
His body was transported by plane with help from the Defense Ministry to Al-Baha, where people from his village gave him a martyr's farewell and laid him to rest.
Al-Zahrani was to be married together with six other young men in a mass marriage ceremony in his village.
