JEDDAH: The Kingdom has a total number of 680,200 unemployed in the country of both genders, which is 5.6 percent of the total labor force in the country, including both citizens and expatriates, according to the Information and Statistics Department.

The job share of expatriates stands at 12.2 million. The number of Saudi citizens, according to the department, stands at 30.77 million, of which 20.70 million are originally Saudis. The department revealed that the number of unemployed people over 15 years old reached 2.4 percent among males and 21.4 percent among females in 2015. In 2012, unemployment among males reached 3.2 percent, while the level reached 19.8 percent among females.
Foreign doctors formed 70 percent of the Ministry of Health’s hospital staff, while the total number of working doctors reached 29,393. The number of Saudi doctors working in government hospitals is estimated at 8,717 doctors, which is 30 percent of the total number of workers last year.
The number of Saudi pharmacists exceeds that of foreigners in the Ministry of Health’s hospitals by 90 percent, standing at 2,144 national pharmacists in comparison with 245 foreign pharmacists.
According to statistics, the number of nurses reached 73,688, of which 52 percent are Saudis at 38,688, while the number of foreign nurses stands at 35,144. The Ministry of Civil Service announced the names of 103 women who applied for jobs in the health sector on the ministry’s website. The ministry asked the women to visit one of its branches with their original documents to complete the final conformation procedures, in order to verify their personal details on Jadara system.
The ministry asked all candidates to bring with them their national ID or family register, in addition to two copies of their graduation certificate which clearly displays their total average and their date of graduation.
Those with a degree from outside the Kingdom should bring with them their equalization document from the higher education institution, their certificate of excellence, their professional classification for health jobs and a valid professional registration card.
The ministry pointed out that anyone who fails to bring the original documents with them will not be considered for the job after the end of the matching period, reported Al-Eqtisadia.
