JEDDAH: Resurgent Salam Rice capped its revival late into the tournament, clinching its first Team of the Week award with a Bowler of the Week accolade to boot during the 17th week in the 16th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City here.
Salam Rice was hands down the best of the night to compile the top tally of 33 points.
Five points further back in second place on 27 was Al Kabeer Frozen Foods followed by Casadores 23 and Jem Strikers 20.
League top two in the team standings, Al Murjanah and Habagat, tied on 19 points with sponsor team Sarawat Superstores on 17, while D’ Barkads and AL Striker brought up the rear on 12 and 10 points.
Andy Yumena best typified Salam Rice’s steady march up the standings that saw Carl Constantino’s team rise from 7th to last at the end of the 7th week to 3rd place. Yumena rolled the night’s high series of 676 on lines of 204, 208 and 264 t become the Bowler of the Week.
Jayson Castillo and Atoi Cruz carded 608 and 600 to back up Yumena while Constantino had 599. Mao Orolfo added 214-197 and Ed Butardo tallied 180 for Salam Rice which went second-first-third for the three games while notching the top overall output at 3,109.
Archie Santos and Bandar Al Dosarry got in the top numbers at Al Kabeer on 633 and 629. Rommel Agbayani was a few pins short of 300 on 597 while Nanding Siasoco was the fourth player to complete three games on 567. Rally Zamora contributed 191-194 and Jowett Carrion had 197.
At Casadores, the duo of Tope Sayson and Ruben Grino led the way on 639 and 600 with Benz Espinosa on 589. Sharing two games each were Rey Beltran 202-205, Nezar Al Hamwe 178-183 and Obie Yasas 201-179.
Jem had Efren San Pedro at the helm on 609 that went with the 584 by Joel San Pedro, 576 by Cesar Pagtalunan, 569 by Mike Tambasi, 205-198 by Richard Junio and 223 by Rolly Vistal.

Meantime, this Friday’s session for the FTBJ-ICBL 36th Conference is suspended to give way to the FTBJ Monthly Finals for August, according to organizers. Roll-off time is 1:30 p.m.
