JEDDAH: The number of Saudi male and female employees in the public sector, aged 50-65 years and above, has reached 1,581,491 with 1,518,028 males and 63,463 females, according to government reports.
The number of males aged 45-49 years reached 1,162,576, while the number of females at the same age is 96,704, with a total of 1,259,280. The reports revealed that male workers aged between 40-44 years numbered 1,541,455, while females in the same age grouping reached 259,371, for a total of 1,800,826.
The number of males between the ages 35-39 years, who have occupied the job for more than 15 years, reached 1,876,268, while the number of females reached 359,482, with a total of 2,235,750.
The number of male workers aged between 30-34 years reached 1,672,528, while the number of females reached 335,121 with a total of 2,007,649.
The number of males at the age between 25-29 years is 1,206,164, while the number of females reached 220,485 for a total of 1,426,649.
The reports also indicated that the number of males between 20-24 years amounted to 467,362, while the number of females reached 78,563 with a total of 545,925 from both sexes.
The number of male workers between the ages of 15-19 years reached 31,997, while females number 10,822. The total number of workers in various age groups of males is 9,476,378, while the number of females reached 1,424,011, for a total of 10,900,389.
Human Resources Committee member Hisham Njawe said that “Saudi Arabia is witnessing scientific evolution that requires youths to rapidly accept changes in learning, in contrast, employees who are over the age of 55 find it difficult to accept changes as they are accustomed to a particular system of management.”
