The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) commends the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Commission (PVPVC) for its developing and rapid efforts in human rights in the Kingdom and related issues.
Upon receiving NSHR Chairman Moflih Al-Qahtany Monday, PVPVC President Abdullatif Al-Alsheikh pointed out the commission’s keenness to spread a human rights culture. He stressed that the commission welcomes the society’s recommendations and exerts all efforts to develop its performance in this direction. The PVPVC president indicated that the commission is already taking measures to achieve goals and activate laws in relation to human rights. King Abdullah’s personal attention set successful foundations for human rights in the Kingdom, he said.
Al-Qahtany pointed out the steps the Commission had taken in this field, and its keenness to abide by laws and regulations to deliver its objectives in a way tolerable by people and consisting with Islamic Sharia law and the leaders’ directives.
Both sides discussed fields of cooperation between them and exchanged viewpoints about related issues.
The PVPVC already established an independent human rights unit that created procedures to enhance the preservation of human rights and spread its concept and culture among its employees.
