JEDDAH: Flushed with success of the last tournament the Overseas Filipino Basketball League (OFBL) unveils its new tournament with a grand opening ceremony at 5 p.m. today.
The event will held at Time-out Sports Gymnasium on Television Street, Ghulail District on the outskirts of Jeddah in what promises to be another exciting basketball action during the entire run of the tournament.
This is the second conference of the 2012 Salavador “Boy” Teves Basketball Tournament organized by the Overseas Filipino Basketball League (OFBL).
OFBL Chairman Teves and Commissioner Rocky Gil said: “The last season was a great conference and beyond our expectations but because of our hard work and determination we succeeded. We were very excited about it. Also, OFBL gained a feather in its cap as the local oganizer of the PBA Legends Tour exhibition games in Saudi Arabia at Green Hall Stadium here. It was a good experience for us as organizers.”
Teves and Gil also congratulated the winners and the awardees of last conference. “Hopefully in this new season of the OFBL we assure you of a high level of games and quality players we will see on the hard court in a spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie,” they said.
The new tournament attracted 45 teams including 15 in the Friday Morning Division.
The tournament partners are MJE (Mahmoud Jama Ibrahim Est.) import –export – commission agent-contracting-general services and transport, Al Zugbi, Art’s Cuisine Pinoy Photographers Club Jeddah and BRG (Basketball Referees Group) of Lito dela Cruz.
