The new GranCabrio Sport is the natural successor to a model that is already part of Maserati history. Extending the range with a version that is even more dynamic and sporty is typical of our marque’s philosophy. The GranCabrio and GranCabrio Sport are similar in spirit but with different detail. They have been created to offer customers the opportunity to choose the model that best meets their needs.
EXTERIOR:
Your heart will skip a beat when you set eyes on the new GranCabrio Sport for the first time. The new detailing enhances the car’s lines and lends a sporty edge to its innate elegance and style. The car appears decisive and dynamic; its place in Maserati’s great tradition already secure.
The grille, traditionally a distinctive feature on Maserati vehicles, echoes the elegance of models from a classic era like the A6G-54 Frua Spyder. Black vertical slats feature on the GranCabrio Sport’s grille and black is the colour that borders the headlight cluster with its white indicators. The Trident that sits in the centre of the grille sports red prongs, a feature that appears only on the most powerful cars in the Maserati range.
INTERIOR:
Any driver, once he has encountered the GranCabrio Sport, will be unable to resist the temptation to get behind the wheel.
The instrument panel is clearly visible, allowing the driver to keep everything under review. The centre display reports all the important information, even the data concerning the gearbox management system. Time flies on the move. Once at your destination, the brushed aluminum sill trim, with its Maserati logo, will be the GranCabrio Sport’s reminder to you to come back soon.
TECHNOLOGY:
The GranCabrio Sport’s excellent performance comes courtesy of dedicated technical changes made to this model. An uprated Skyhook suspension system is fitted as standard to this car and features aluminum dampers that constantly adjust the ride.
Skyhook is managed by a control unit that receives data from acceleration sensors positioned on each wheel and on the chassis. The system processes the data and analyses the driving style and road conditions.
ENGINE:
The GranCabrio Sport’s power unit develops 331 kW thanks to a series of modifications aimed at optimizing its performance. The engine’s development saw innovative techniques employed to reduce friction, like the adoption of Diamond-Like Coating (DLC) for the tappets and camshaft lobes.
The 4.7-liter V8 delivers 331 kW at 7000 rpm and has a maximum torque of 510 Nm at 4750 rpm. These figures stand as testimony to the athletic character of the GranCabrio Sport. Still, it is on the road where its smooth gear changes, immediate accelerator response, generous, ample torque and perfect balance between comfort and performance can be fully appreciated. Then there is the sweet, throaty engine noise that varies depending on whether the exhausy bypass valves are open or closed. The driver’s passion will be in tune with this pure sound to offer a unique driving experience.
