Abdul Aziz Muhammad and Dua Kalantan won the first two positions in a photography contest organized by the International Medical Center (IMC) on Monday.
Thirty young men and women participated in the contest entitled “Our Message in Pictures.” It was stipulated that each photo should capture a scene from the hospital carrying the spirit of human service.
The third position went to Eman Jaber.
The judges’ panel for the contest included Executive President of IMC Dr. Waleed Fitaihi, Dr. Ali Abul Hassan and photographers Waleed Al-Marhoum and Dahi Al-Ali. The event was sponsored by Libra Production.
“The contest carried the message of creating an ideal model for health care with a comprehensive vision of physical, mental and spiritual health and incorporating the element of divine mercy,” Dr. Fitaihi said in a statement on the occasion.
He added that a contestant should not use Photoshop technique for a better appearance of his or her work.
Another member of the judges panel, Al-Ali said the best photos were selected on the basis of a contestant’s skill to merge the hospital theme with the photographic technique.
He added that the event would encourage youths to participate in exhibitions and similar contests.
The winner of the first place in the contest, Abdul Aziz Muhammad, said he was motivated by his belief that illness of the body could be treated with the healing of spiritual ailments and that he attempted to convey this message when he participated in the contest.
