BEIRUT: Although everyone knew about Egyptian artist Mirna El Mohandes’ long struggle with blood cancer, none of us was prepared to see her go at the age of 37.
Sadly, Mirna passed away on Wednesday after her body couldn’t cope with cancer any longer, reported Al-Watan Voice.
Mirna was put in intensive care two days ago following severe internal bleeding. She also received artificial respiration, but was declared dead soon after, according to Al Arabiya Net.
The young actress has over 60 productions to her name, in both cinema and television. Her last work was the Ramadan 2015 TV series “Oreedo Rajolan” (I Want a Man).
Mirna graduated from the High Institute for Theatrical Arts.
She started her artistic career at age nine starring in commercials. At age 16, she started to act in television, landing roles in the popular series Arabesque in 1994 and Saken Ussadi (Lives Across From Me) in 1995. Mirna acted in well-recognized roles in films such as Mr. Dollar, Youm Ma Eetabelna (The Day We Met) and Kalam Garayed or (Newspaper Talk).
