Oman Air has announced the appointment of Jaffar Juma Al-Lawati as country manager, Oman.
As country manager for Oman Air, Al-Lawati will be responsible for achieving the set targets of our hub station — Oman, by optimizing the sales revenue and seeking ways and means of promoting Oman Air through various sales channels.
Having entered the aviation business as a management trainee with Gulf Air in 1990, Al-Lawati has since gained vast experience across a broad range of roles within the aviation.
His most recent position, prior to joining Oman Air, was as country manager, Oman, for Etihad Airways.
Welcoming Al-Lawati to Oman Air, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Abdulrazaq Alraisi, said: “We are extremely pleased that Jaffar is joining the Oman Air team and we look forward to working with him to bring even greater success to our operations in Oman,” he said.
“With an expanded network and a growing fleet of aircraft, last year Oman Air operated more flights and carried more passengers than ever before — and we have ambitious plans for the future. Al-Lawati therefore joins us at an important point in Oman’s development and we are sure that he will rise to the challenge with commitment and resolve.”
Jaffar Juma Al-Lawati added: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this prestigious post with the flag carrier of my home country. I am grateful for the warm welcome that I have received and I look forward to making a significant contribution to Oman Air’s continuing success.”
Al-Lawati joins Oman Air at a particularly busy time, as seasonal holiday traffic increases and thousands of visitors from throughout the Gulf region descend on Salalah to enjoy the Khareef, the monsoon season that brings cool temperatures and refreshing rain to southern Oman.
