RIYADH: Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, deputy premier and minister of defense, received today at his office in Riyadh Dr. Omar Bin Fouad Hamza and conferred on him the King Abdul-Aziz Medal of the first class.
A report by SPA said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah, ordered the conferment of the prestigious medal in recognition of the precious historical material Omar provided to the King Abdul-Aziz Foundation for Research and Archives.
"The precious historical material he provided concerns the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was held by his father Fouad Hamza, who worked as undersecretary for foreign affairs and served as an adviser to the late King Abdul-Aziz," said the report.
In attendance during the reception were Prince Mohammed bin Salman, special adviser and supervisor of the Office and Special Affairs of the Crown Prince, and Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Sammari, secretary-general of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives.
