Most of us suffer from delays when we order a delivery from a restaurant or a furniture store.
Enwani is a home delivery service provider that helps customers save time when describing their home addresses to companies.
Abdullah Elyas, a 38-year-old Saudi computer science graduate, with a Ph.D. in Business Administration, is the founder and managing editor of Enwani.
Elyas grew up in Germany before moving back to Saudi Arabia three years ago to work as a management consultant in the capital. He noticed a recurring problem whenever he would ask for a delivery order, as drivers would get lost on the way and had to call repeatedly for directions. His problem was further exacerbated since he was a newcomer in Riyadh and didn’t know how to give the right directions.
“I noticed how much simpler and more facilitated things were in Germany and so I decided to find a solution to the problem.”
Elyas left his job and began working on a new project called Enwani.
The idea is to register the address of clients on Google maps and then have them download the free application on their smart phones to identify their locations. In exchange, users of this application will receive an ‘E’ number, directly connected to their phone number. Subsequently, this will enable the users to share their location with delivery services, friends and family.
In addition, the application allows users to save more than one address under the same name.
Many people might be worried about sharing their house addresses on a public application, which is why the creator of Enwani took great measures to ensure users’ privacy.
As such, privacy is linked to the user’s phone number and he/she has control over giving access to their address to the others users and clients.
Enwani was created about a year and two months ago. However, Elyas has been working on the project for almost three years and his work paid off three months ago when Enwani was finally launched.
The team behind the project includes Saudi and German entrepreneurs. Enwani currently has 16 partners from various backgrounds such as, pharmaceuticals, restaurants, bakeries and electronic stores, like i.zone and the technical team is based in Germany.
After venues register to the website, Enwani staff train their delivery drivers for the necessary duration of time on how to use the application. “We try our best to follow up with them and hear their feed back,” Elyas said, adding that it’s a user-friendly application.
Elyas is now preparing to launch a social media campaign to spread the word about the application, to ensure people do not have to waste valuable time answering multiple phone calls for a delivery service.
