Pakistan minister discusses Haj plans with Madinah governor

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah held talks here yesterday with Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman on preparations for this year's Haj and other issues.
Prince Faisal asked Shah to offer proposals and suggestions that would facilitate the stay of Pakistani pilgrims in Madinah.
Shah asked Prince Faisal to look into the lack of education facilities for Pakistani youth. The governor promised to investigate the matter.
Prince Faisal underscored the fact that this was the first visit by a foreign dignitary to his office since he assumed his latest responsibility. He said it was appropriate that this visit was from Pakistan because of the strong ties between the two countries.
The minister was accompanied by Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Mohammed Azam Samma; Ambassador of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia Mohammed Naeem Khan; Director General of Haj Syed Ahmad Abu Akif; and Director in the Ministry of Religious Affairs Baharullah Hazarvi.
The minister conveyed the greetings of the president and prime minister of Pakistan to Prince Faisal.
Shah said Pakistanis revere the holy city of Madinah Munawarrah. He also praised the Saudi government for the major expansion and upgrading taking place in the city for the benefit of pilgrims.
Prince Faisal said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have always enjoyed good relations and recalled the time the Organization of Islamic Conference summit took place in Pakistan during the period of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, the former prime minister of Pakistan.
Prince Faisal praised the Pakistani community in Madinah for their professionalism and work ethic.
