Pin Slasher outlasts X-Alley, BCT Mongoose blanks Fire Fox

Pin Slasher survived X-Alley in a high-scoring match on total pinfalls of 3750-3734 to become back-to-back Team of the Week during the seventh session in the FEDBG Friday Morning Bowling League 12th Conference at the Bowling City here.
Team captain Roger Daquioag was at the helm in defense of the Bulls at 676 but Andy Yumena elbowed him out for the Bowler of the Week plum with a 678 at the vanguar of X-Alley.
The opening game was actually split at 2-2 wherein Bulls took scratch set at 1079-1065 and X-Alley the total with handicap at 1217-1185. But with Pin Slasher improving its output behind Garry Raymundo (640), Dariel Loquias (628) and Tito Cruz (623), the Bulls overhauled the lead of X-Alley in the last two sets at 1313-1291 and 1252-1226 thanks to May Lourdes (595) and Carling Constantino (588).
That placed the Bulls on advantage so that though Archie Santos (606), Danny Manriza (602), Peps Niera (630), Alma Baylon (610) and team head Ali Ibn (608) all posted 600-series scores, X-Alley was at the short end of the high-scoring contest.
Yumena won Bowler of the Week honors with games of 213, 229 and 236 beating Dauioag who missed what could have been back-to-back accolades by two pins on rounds of 235, 216 and 225.
Ball Care did not let rivals retaliate after leading on the opening salvo with team captain Emil Payongayong heading his squad with 226 in the 1215-1105 walloping of Fire Fox.
Neophyte Melo Amano tried to ignite Fox with 223 but Mart Lising backed Payongayong up with 213 as Mongoose followed up with 1193-1161.
Those two back-breaking sets of BCT weakened its rivals so that their 1035-997 totally crippled the Fox at 3443-3263 with Payongayong guiding with 619 to which Lising, Nards Hassan, Rod Lofamia, Grace Funtilon and Caloy Nuguit responded well with 582, 551, 585, 580 and 526 respectively. Team manager Eva Garcia led Fire Fox with 610 with Amano on 586.
In other matches, Pin Rockers blanked D’ Mountaineers, Petromin Express and Shawly Bowlers Dragon respectively edged Ekis-3 and Micah’s Pride Tigers at 11-9 and Lance & 3rdy scored 20 points as the unopposed team in action.
Royal Strikers Lion stopped Fed Extreme at 16-4 despite Matet Cavite’s sterling total of 622 which gave the Yanbu-based kegler her second Bowler of the Week plum with games of 229, 195 and 198.
Team standings after seven sessions: Lance & 3rdy 161, Pin Slasher 153, Ekis-3 150, Pin Rockers 143, Fed Extreme 135, Shawly Bowlers 126, Micah’s Pride 124, Petromin Express 116, Royal Strikers 114, Ball Care 113, D’ Mountaineers 97, X-Alley 83, Fire Fox 78
