Prince Salman to distribute Naif International Prize

Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, will distribute the Prince Naif International Prize for Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies during a ceremony here on Tuesday.
Saaed Al-Harithy, adviser to the interior minister and member of the prize’s higher committee, thanked Prince Salman for agreeing to chair the ceremony. He said the prize’s secretariat had received 322 research papers on various topics. “Out of them, 22 papers were given to the jury to pick the winners,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prince Salman received a message from Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, which was handed to the crown prince by Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan.
Also yesterday, Prince Salman chaired a meeting of religious affairs at the armed forces. During the meeting, he was briefed on the department’s activities and future programs.
Prince Salman emphasized the need to take care of armed forces personnel’s religious matters, saying it was essential to strengthen their faith and deepen their religious values.
