Prince Sultan opens Arab tourism ministers meet today

Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will open the 10th session of the Executive Committee of Arab Tourism Ministers Council (ATMC) at the headquarters of the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO) here today. The meeting will discuss a number of topics including ways to further promote tourism in Arab countries, activating a number of initiatives aimed at achieving sustained tourism development and joint work to develop all aspects of tourism in a way highlighting the rich cultural, heritage, natural and historical features and achievements of the Arab countries through the ages. The meeting would also stress the need for promoting noble human values based on peace and reciprocal respect of peoples while developing tourism.
Ambassador Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijri, assistant secretary-general of the Arab League for economic affairs, and ATO President Bandar bin Fahed Al Fahed are among the dignitaries who will attend the meeting.
Jordan’s tourism minister holds the presidency of the current session of the council.
Members of the council include Sudan, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
