Qassim police have arrested a gang of 10, led by a Saudi and an Asian, for allegedly stealing more than 100 goats under cover of night from farms in the region.
One hundred and five goats were recovered following the arrests, allegedly stolen from 20 farms in the Buraida and Unaiza areas.
The gang's leaders are said to have scoped out which farms to burglarize and provided other gang members vehicles to transport the stolen sheep from the scene of the crime, to potential customers where they were sold at below-market prices, a security official said.
Col. Fahd Al-Habdan, spokesman of Qassim police, said the gang members were arrested after security agents monitored their activities over the past weeks and after obtaining evidence of the suspects' involvement in the crime. “We have caught the criminals red handed with the stolen goats and they have confessed,” Col Al-Habdan said.
