Ric Reformado powered Lance & 3rdy to win over Micah’s Pride while Eva Garcia used her handicap to the max and inspire Fire Fox in dominating Pin Slashers during the second week in the Friday Morning Bowling League 12th Conference of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group at the Bowling City here.
With a quick pro-like tracking Reformado readily seared lanes 9 & 10 with 247 and with the balanced support from Elo Manalo, Edward Botardo, Med Ramos, Ver Jasa and team manager Evelyn Santoc, Lance & 3rdy shut out Micah’s at 1243-1109 in the opening salvo.
Reformado followed up with 204, but counterpart Oca Bernabe returned 229 as Micah’s Pride drew level at 1-1 in the contest with 1154-1138 on contributions from Melvin Lising, Ruel Santoc, Jack Jarin, Ronnie de Castro and team captain Ester Santoc.
The stage was then set for an action-packed last lap with Lising and Ruel exchanging marks with Reformado and Manalo. But with Reformado tossing in 246 and Manalo 221, Lance & 3rdy emerged victorious when Micah’s Lising and Ruel could only combine 413 for a 16-4 (3630-3417) verdict.
Lance & 3rdy garnered its first Team of the Week honors with that superlative aggregate and team captain Reformado made it a double when he emerged Bowler of the Week after shooting the high series of 697 on games of 247, 204 and 246.
Unheard of for quite sometime, Garcia grabbed the limelight when she guided Fire Fox in defeating defending champion Pin Slasher with her ladies Bowler of the Week award-winning total of 664.
A self-taught bowler, Garcia carded games of 222, 219 and 223. Garcia’s superb display rubbed off on teammates Obie Ycasas (512), Archie ALcantara (529), Vic Bantay (568), Serge Rivera (537) and novice Melo Amano (578), as Fire Fox won by 11-9 on total pinfalls of of 3388-3200. Aileen Miralbuna led Pin Slasher on 626.
In other matches, Petromin Express, X-Alley and Ekis-3 won by identical 16-4 result against Ball Care For Now, Royal Strikes and D’ Mountaineers in that order, Fed Extreme upset Shawly Bowlers 12-8 and unopposed Pin Rockers tallied 16 points.
