KANSAS CITY, Missouri: Andy Reid, who was fired Monday after 14 years of coaching in Philadelphia, has signed a contract to become head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs posted a picture on their Twitter account of Reid and chief executive Clark Hunt signing papers.
The Chiefs plan to hold a news conference Monday to introduce Reid.
The Chiefs sacked their head coach, Romeo Crennel, on Monday and on Friday parted company with general manager Scott Pioli.
Pioli’s departure opened the door for Reid to take over in Kansas City. Reid is now expected to bring his own general manager and player personnel staff.
Reid is the most successful coach in the history of the Eagles, posting a 130-93-1 regular-season record and a 10-9 playoff record.
The Eagles made the playoffs nine times during Reid’s tenure. They competed in five NFC championship games and lost to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXIX.
