Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal congratulated participants and contributors to the project of new "Chiefs-of-Districts" headquarters during his inspection visit to Al-Rawdah chief district office. The visit was aimed to familiarize the governors with mechanisms of work there.
The new headquarters were built using Hijazi architectural style which combines past and modern features.
"This is a great project, not just because of its architectural size or its staff, but also for its Islamic, national, social, cultural and economic effects and implications", said Prince Khalid.
He added that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques gave his guidance to all governors of areas that their utmost responsibility is to serve citizens in their areas.
"We launched a development partners project in this district, and I think that such projects are the result of partnerships between citizens, civil society organizations and governmental institutions in order that all parties participate and contribute to the development of humankind, as well as the place itself", said Prince Khalid.
Prince Khaled was familiarized on the mechanism of the "Shomose system" which was activated to serve the tasks of chief districts in Jeddah.
To date, four headquarters have been constructed out of total of 92. They are Al Rawdah , Western Al Bhagdadyah, Yemen and Al Bahar, and Southern Al Salamah.
Attending the ceremony was Jeddah Gov. Prince Meshal bin Majed, Deputy Governor of Makkah Abdulaziz Al-Khudari, Jeddah Mayor Hani Abu Ras, and Makkah and Jeddah chiefs of police Brigadiers Jazaa Al Omari and Ali Al Ghamdi.
It is worth mentioning that the Makkah region is driving planning and executive efforts to activate the role of chiefs of districts in neighborhoods and to promote their work. Today, there are 203 chiefs of district in Makkah region, 92 of which are in Jeddah.
The region formed a team action consisting of 16 representatives from government, security and civil society institutions under the supervision of the deputy governor to formulate the role of the chief, understand his tasks in implementing regulations and codes, as well as other functions concerning all information related to residents of his neighborhood with the help of the "Shomose system" and the technologies provided by the National Information Center.
